Adrian Peterson: Playing For Cowboys 'Would Be Nice'

Apr 29, 2015 12:05 PM

Adrian Peterson acknowledged he would be interested in playing for the Dallas Cowboys, but he also said the situation is out of his hands.

"It would be nice," to come to Dallas. "I've got family here, my dad's here. But I'm under contract, so we'll see."

The Cowboys appear unwilling to meet the Minnesota Vikings' high asking price and pay Peterson's contract.

Jets Receive Trade Interest In Muhammed Wilkerson

Apr 29, 2015 12:06 PM

The New York Jets have received trade interest in Muhammed Wilkerson this offseason from at least two teams.

More calls from teams are expected as the NFL draft gets underway Thursday night, according to the source.

The Jets don't plan on trading Wilkerson but will listen to offers.

Wilkerson could be the most attractive defensive player potentially available. Any team interested in acquiring him would have to weigh whether he is better than the player or players it could draft this week.

Wilkerson is scheduled to make $6.96 million, the amount of his fifth-year option, this season.

Eli Manning Comfortable Entering 2015 Without Long-Term Contract

Apr 28, 2015 12:57 PM

Eli Manning is comfortable playing the 2015 season without a long-term contract.

Manning is entering the final season of a seven-year, $106.9 million contract with the New York Giants.

"I've known a lot of people who have gone into their last year, my brother went into the last year of his contract twice, and that's just part of it," Manning said Sunday via Newsday. "I look at it as, hey, I signed a six-year contract and I never once mentioned the contract to them or anything, or tried to get extended. I'm going to play out those six years and hopefully my play and the success of the team will dictate the future of me being in New York."

Manning has the second highest base salary in the NFL for 2015.

Sanchez: Tim Tebow Signed As Camp Arm

Apr 25, 2015 2:02 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles have told Mark Sanchez that Tim Tebow was signed to be a camp arm and that he probably won't make the regular season roster.

"He's obviously a great guy, he works hard. And we needed another guy to throw while Sam's [Bradford] still recovering," Sanchez said Friday. "So that's the reason [for the signing], at least as explained to me. We're excited about the upcoming year and I think we have a great group."

The day before Sanchez's remarks, Eagles' new vice president of player personnel Ed Marynowitz explained why the team signed Tebow.

"We worked him out and we saw improvement from the last time we saw him, had exposure to him live when we played New England when they practice here," Marynowitz said. "When we worked him out, we saw a great deal of improvement with him. ...

"We've got 68 players that are on our roster right now," he continued. "Tim is one of 68 so he'll have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot here. ... His role will be determined by his performance. We're excited that he's a member of the organization, and we're looking forward to him competing."
